Credit has never been a good system in America. Why do I have to lose money and spend money I don’t have to show that I can get money to someone. You can also lose credit just by checking your credit with some sources too and that combined with how some WMD are using credit to hurt people does make this world dystopian. Some so many people can’t change their financial situations hence, when it comes to how to raise their credit, they probably don’t have those resources. I have been fortunate enough to get out of that trap, but I also have very little knowledge about these systems and when I look to get information from my family or others they do not tell me any good information about it. I want to push against this system, but these systems are already so in place and people don’t want to fight back. Credit scores feel the same as the Chinese social scores. People are ranked in a society and if your score is not high enough you will not get the same chances as other people. We see this affect the poor and we see this affect people of color the most. These systems can be fixed if we adopted new ways of living that treat people fairly in a system that values everyone rather than assigning a fake value that does not reflect someone’s ability to take a loan. We see how this can hurt people coming here to open a small business to try and escape their old lives, but because they have bad credit or they have no credit, they don’t get the opportunity. There needs to be work done to the system, or openings for these people, but we currently don’t have those systems and that does not make us a strong or great country.
